DISTINTIVI UFFICIALI - OFFICIAL BADGE

Si adottò un tipo completamente di metallo senza alcun nastrino. Esso consisteva essenzialmente di uno scudo, più o meno allungato, smaltato in diversi colori, sul quale era applicato il simbolo dei Giochi, sovrapposto dalla scritta che distingueva la carica o la qualifica di chi lo portava. I distintivi erano di quattro categorie:

These were made entirely of metal, and had no ribbons attached. In essence, they were shields, somewhat elongated in form, enamelled in different colours, and with the symbol of the Games together with a legend denoting the capacity or qualification of the wearer, upon it. There were four types of badge:

a) con scudo araldico, per i membri del C.I.O. (granato con fascia bianca), C.N.O. (giallo e bleu), F.S.I. (giallo e rosso), Stampa (rosso e bianco), Radio TV (rosso e grigio), Fotofilm (rosso e azzurro), Capo missione (bianco e azzurro); ufficiale (bianco e rosso), invitato (grigio);

a) heraldic shield, for members of the I.O.C. (maroon with white stripe), N.O.C. (yellow and blue), I.S.F. (yellow and red), Press (red and white), Radio-TV red and grey), Photofilm (red and navy), Head of Team (white and navy), official (white and red), guest (grey);

b) su placca rotonda bleu con la scritta «Atleta» per tutti i concorrenti;

c) con scudo allungato per il Comitato organizzatore (azzurro), di servizio (verde), ufficiali di gara (bianco), assistente (celeste);

c) elongated shield for Organizing Committee (navy), service personnel (green), judges (white), assistance (blue);

d) con scudo araldico per gli «ADDETTO» alle squadre ed interpreti (bianco e verde), con la scritta «AIUTANTE» per gli allenatori, i tecnici ed accompagnatori generici delle squadre (grigio-azzurro).

d) heraldic shield and inscription "ADDETTO" for team helpers and interpreters (white and green), and with the inscription «AIUTANTE» for coaches, specialists, trainers and in generic accompanying teams (grey-blue).

Tutti i badge venivano consegnati con una scatoletta di colore beige o rossa con sopra scritta la qualifca di chi lo avrebbe portato.

All badges were delivered with a box of beige or red color with the title written over who would take him.

In totale, quindi, furono coniati 16 diversi modelli. In complesso a tutti i partecipanti, ufficiali ed atleti, furono distribuiti 3627 esemplari, come segue:

a) con scudo araldico, per i membri del C.I.O. (granato con fascia bianca), C.N.O. (giallo e bleu), F.S.I. (giallo e rosso), Stampa (rosso e bianco), Radio TV (rosso e grigio), Fotofilm (rosso e azzurro), Capo missione (bianco e azzurro); ufficiale (bianco e rosso), invitato (grigio)

a) with heraldic shield, for the members of the C.I.O. (garnet with white band), C.N.O. (yellow and bleu), F.S.I. (yellow and red), Press (red and white), Radio TV (red and gray), Photofilm (red and blue), Chief of Mission (white and blue); officer (white and red), guest (gray)

b) su placca rotonda bleu con la scritta «Atleta» per tutti i concorrenti;

c) con scudo allungato per il Comitato organizzatore (azzurro), di servizio (verde), ufficiali di gara (bianco), assistente (celeste)

d) with a heraldic shield for the "employees" of the teams and interpreters (green and white), with the inscription "Helper" for coaches, technicians and general companions of the teams (gray-blue)
